The egg as a symbol of fertility is not only indispensable in European countries and in Christian traditions but also in other cultures such as China, where it stands for new beginnings, in the Jewish Passover and the Iranian Nowruz celebration. Thanks to their perfect shape and pleasant haptic feel, eggs are often used as palm stones or are placed on a desk as a decorative paperweight. With such a wide variety, they make popular collector’s items. Berry is poured into a mould in keeping with traditional sand-casting. In a final step, the hand-carved contours are etched with a fine tool and after being polished the entire workpiece is surface-treated.
