One of the oldest craftsmanship techniques of mankind is the production of ceramic vessels, which in principle has not changed over the millennia. Pots and vessels are more or less still produced today using a similar process. The Chiyoko vessels are cast out of so-called fine ceramics, fired high and then manually covered with a matt glaze. This gives the work its unmistakable character, making each vessel unique. The handmade pottery was fired at over 1000 degrees and should therefore be waterproof. During use, tiny hairline cracks could develop which allow moisture to pass through. Use a waterproof plastic insert to protect floor and furniture surfaces.
