Making ceramic pots is one of the oldest handcrafting techniques known to mankind, and has remained almost unchanged for thousands of years. To this day, pots and containers are still being made in a more or less similar process. The slightly organic-shaped Sapporo bowls are poured from fine ceramics and high-fired. The outside of the bowl is finished with a metallic reactive glaze and the inside is sealed with a black glaze. This makes equally suitable for different uses: for example as a decorative bowl or for serving salad. Sapporo should be washed by hand and not in the dishwasher, as the fine metallic glaze would otherwise lose its sheen.
