Kaowan is not only a decorative wall object, but can also be used as a bowl to hold nuts or fruit on a table. The flat form is pressed in sheet iron, patinated and then adorned with lines of solder in the style of Japanese kintsugi. This bowl may not come in contact with acidic substances, for example fruit that could overripen, as this could leave spots on the patina.
